Melinda is an extraordinarily gifted artist. I am deeply honored and humbled to have been the subject of her incredible ability to draw. Both of these drawings were the result of some drawing reference photos that I created that I called my "Morning Sun" series, because I did them using the exaggerated shadows created by the very early morning sun. The depth and detail that Melinda draws in the human form is nothing short of astounding.
Melinda brought me right to tears when she sent me the originals to both of these drawings. It was an unbelieveable act of kindness, selflessness, and generosity. I am so very grateful to her.
Because I love this drawing, which Melinda called "Ben Kneeling", so much, I wrote to her and asked her permission to display this drawing (in digital form) a bit more publicly and openly myself. This was her reply "Believe me...showing off my art, makes me very happy. I do it, every chance I get...lol But as so many people have made comment, on it, and I am prone to believe it to be true...My talent is a gift from God, and it should be shared. ( Who knows, perhaps it bares a purpose, in how I am to better serve God, and I have not figured it out yet..One of my many unanswered questions in life...which I am still seeking )"
With all soberness, I affirm my belief that Melinda's talent is indeed a gift from God. It is so amazingly well done, that there is simply no other possible explanation. And, although I'm certain my little site here, will have few visitors, I proudly show Melinda's drawings here, and cannot say enough good things about them. I wish I could show the entire world and sing the praises of such extraordinarily well done and passionate drawings. I will do what I can.
